Hotel Rio Tapajós
A 2-star budget stay nine minutes from the airport
Santarém
About this stay
Hotel Rio Tapajós trades star rating for location: a 2-star budget hotel with straightforward, air-conditioned rooms, but only a nine-minute taxi ride from the airport, shorter than almost any other property in this list. Free breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking keep costs down, and the pet-friendly policy adds flexibility for travelers with animals who might struggle elsewhere at this rate. Maracanã Beach, one of the river beaches within Santarém's reach, is six minutes away by taxi, giving guests a nearby swimming option without heading all the way out to Alter do Chão. Churrasco da Dora covers dinner four minutes on foot, rounding out a hotel built for practicality over polish, and the honest 2-star rating keeps expectations realistic from the start.

Our take
Travelers landing late or leaving early, who want the shortest possible airport run, should put Hotel Rio Tapajós near the top of the list. Anyone expecting 3-star finishes or river views should adjust expectations, since the 2-star rating here is honest about the level of the rooms rather than a marketing undersell dressed up with better photos.
- ✓Book this hotel specifically for early flights or late arrivals, since the nine-minute airport run is the standout feature.
- ✓Take the six-minute taxi to Maracanã Beach for an afternoon swim rather than assuming the hotel itself sits on the water.
- ✓Confirm pet-friendly room availability ahead of arrival, since 2-star properties often have fewer suitable rooms.
Why we love it

- Six minutes from Maracanã Beach
- Pet-friendly policy
- Free parking included
Why guests love itTravelers who book this hotel around a flight schedule get real value from the nine-minute airport transfer, one of the shortest in Santarém, which matters more than it sounds after a long connecting journey. The 2-star rooms stay basic, air conditioning and a clean bed rather than any added polish, but Maracanã Beach a short taxi ride away gives the stay a reason to relax rather than just pass through on the way somewhere else.
