Our take
I would book Philly Flat for a beach-first stay in Barra da Tijuca, with the sand directly in front of the building. The apartments have a full kitchen and a balcony, ideally facing the sea, so ask for one when booking. The pool, hot tub, sauna and fitness centre add hotel comfort without losing apartment space. Barra is quieter and more spread out than the southern neighbourhoods. The 9.1 rating from 23 reviews is excellent.
- ✓Book a sea-view room to make the most of the beachfront location and enjoy striking ocean vistas.
- ✓Take advantage of the spa facilities, especially the hot tub and sauna, for a truly relaxing experience.
- ✓Explore Barra da Tijuca Beach early in the morning for a peaceful walk or a refreshing swim before it gets busy.
